It Has Been a While

It has definitely been awhile since I've posted anything. Our business.website has definitely grown. You can see by checking out our site at Life in Spite of MS

And we have started another website, yep you heard that right. Our daughter wanted to join in the fun, so we went through the brainstorming process and came up with Sandwiches Again?

The second one is in the beginning stages, but it's definitely on it's way. The thing about growing our sites is that they are fun to build. We work at our own pace. No pace is too slow or too fast. If we can work on it, we do. If not we give it a rest. But the important thing is to remain consistent.

We made a commitment to build our websites by offering valuable content to our visitors. They in turn tell their friends who tell their friends.... and so on, so on...

The most important thing is to continue. Don't quit. Keep going. Begin and then go on. You will find that eventually you will get to the point where you wanted to be. You will see the growth, the potential.

Now that our site has grown to the point where we have begun to monetize, we see a steady growth in income every month. We can actually see that as the visitors increase, so does the money.

We are so excited about our other site as well. And can't wait to get it to the point of being able to monetize it. We are so proud at being able build a website to the point that it actually makes money. You can do it too. So get started now and you will also see the steady growth that leads to a steady growing income.

Do You Know any Real Web Business Owners?

Most of us don't know "real" web business owners. We see websites that look successful when we do a Google search, but we don't know "real" people who own those sites. They are just as remote as the big business owners in the real world. The CEO's and presidents of big companies and corporations.
We've been searching for a "real" web business for years, only we didn't know it. We have even had a web site that cost about $1,000 to start, plus the monthly web hosting cost. My husband and I sold gift items. For the entire year we had the site, we sold more items at the local flea market. In fact, we never sold a single item from our internet web site.
We tried a few marketing strategies, handing out business cards, flyers, and telling people we met about our web site.
But we never made a sale; we lost money. We finally gave up and canceled our site. Why did we fail? No one knew we were there. No traffic, no sale. We thought the company who sold us the web site was credible, of course, so we didn't really blame them. They told us to market, which we did to a limited degree as I said earlier. But obviously that was not enough.
We continued over the years to find something that would give us a viable business that we could do at home. We had limited success in everything we tried, but everything fell short of any real success. When my husband, who had MS, became too disable to work outside the home, a work at home business became more and more the best option for our family; especially since I was his caregiver and already a sahm.
Fast forward to now. A few weeks ago, I decided to look into an email ezine that I had been receiving for quite awhile about starting a cleaning business. We sometimes thought that this might be a good business to do. Everyone has dirt that needs to be cleaned up, right? Well, I read through the ezine and clicked on the link to go to their website. I was also thinking of starting a website for my small craft business that was doing ok on a site called Etsy. I had moved it from eBay because of the increasing high fees, but was developing a small following on Etsy. I wanted to develop my own site, so I had a habit of looking for web hosts on sites that I visited and liked in hopes of finding a good one.
I scrolled to the bottom and found a link to SBI or Site Build It! I searched the site for days, growing more and more excited that I had actually found something that could really work. I finally showed my husband, not knowing what he would think about another business idea. I didn't blame him, though; we had been burned so many times, that I hardly ever asked him what he thought anymore.
To my surprise, he was open to hearing more. I started researching the business and have yet to find anything negative about it. I found where people have bought the site and have not done anything with it, but for the most part there are actual real people who actually own Site Build It! sites.
They are work-at-home-moms or wahms, retirees, and students. Real people just like us. Finally a work at home business for the rest of us.
